La mosquée de Tinmel

Ijoukak - 298

Description
Located in the remote High Atlas mountains, Tinmel Mosque was built in the 12th century as a spiritual and political center of the Almohad dynasty. Though no longer used for regular worship, it remains a masterpiece of Moroccan-Andalusian architecture with its harmonious arches, intricate stucco work, and vast prayer hall. The mosque symbolizes the power and vision of the Almohads and offers visitors a peaceful, awe-inspiring setting surrounded by dramatic mountain landscapes. It is one of the few mosques in Morocco open to non-Muslim visitors.
